This 1950’s Villa Saratoga home was in fantastic condition when we sold it in 2016. It had lovingly been maintained and updated over the years by its owner – the patriarch of the family. When the owner passed away it conveyed to his children. Since the children are well established with family homes of their own it didn’t make sense for them to keep Ravenswood.

The buyers, represented by Richard Williamson of Sotheby’s International Realty, wanted to be in Saratoga, no compromise. Home size was a concern as they ultimately needed a larger home for their family. If you know Saratoga then you know that there are certainly some large homes but these don’t come to market often so buyers are faced with the prospect of renovation.

Starting with Ravenwood’s large 9,000+ square foot lot the buyers took their time and created a modern classic home. A key change was to bring the footprint of the new house forward, closer to the street. This enabled the nearly doubling of the available living space of the new plan. Using elements of the existing neighborhood style with modern materials and finishes the modest 1,400 square foot home blossomed to 2,634 square feet encompassing 4 Bedrooms and 4 Baths. It was completed in 2019.
